Peter Mbae, the Head of the Government Delivery Service (GDS), has revealed that he resigned from his position due to ongoing frustrations in his role.
In an interview with NTV, Mbae shared the numerous challenges that have made it difficult for him to carry out his duties effectively since his appointment in June 2023.
“It’s impossible to achieve development in a toxic political environment,” he remarked.
Mbae explained that he had proposed a plan to streamline operations in Kenya, recognizing that many offices and centers were duplicating efforts. However, his proposals were dismissed by his superiors, who deemed them unfeasible.
“Much of what I suggested was not implemented. In short, I faced a lot of frustrations,” he said.
Mbae chose to speak out early to avoid being blamed for any eventual failures.
