Following protests by parents and students regarding unsatisfactory 2023 KCSE exam results, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has transferred all 17 teachers from St. Stephens Isongo Secondary School in Mumias East, Kakamega County.

The chairperson of the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) in Kakamega, Johnstone Wabuti, stated that the teachers received transfer letters and will now work in nearby schools.
Wabuti criticized the community for not adhering to the law during last week’s demonstrations, where parents and boda boda operators forcibly removed all teachers from the school premises due to the disappointing examination results.
