Mourners paid heartfelt tributes, remembering Muiruri for his warm personality, discipline, and the positive mark he left on those around him. Former Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria was among the dignitaries present at the somber event.

Rua had announced his son’s passing in a deeply emotional Facebook post on Saturday, March 14, 2026, describing it as one of the darkest days of his life.

“My darkest days. Rest in peace, my son, Muiruri. God, please give us the strength. Fly in peace, my son Muiruri,” he wrote.

Reflecting on their final interactions, Rua revealed that Muiruri had asked him to visit the studio in Kasarani where he often worked. Rua had a sense of foreboding and went to the studio late at night, but his son did not answer his calls.

“Because of that, I made an effort and went there at around 11 p.m. When I arrived, I called him, but he did not pick up, so I assumed it was not something urgent. I then went to an event that was being hosted by Wanjiru wa Waya,” Rua shared.

Rua only learned of his son’s death the following day after multiple calls and messages.

“The following morning, I called him again, but he still did not pick up. Later, at around 1 p.m., I started receiving many phone calls. When we were with Gathoni and later parted ways, she told me that my son had died,” he recounted.

The ceremony was marked by grief, love, and numerous tributes celebrating Muiruri’s life and legacy.
