The highlight of the day will be the clash between Harambee Stars and Angola, following an earlier 4 p.m. fixture between DR Congo and Zambia at the same venue.

In a traffic advisory, Nairobi Traffic Commandant Joseph Chirchir cautioned drivers to steer clear of Thika Road unless their destination is Kasarani, warning of significant congestion on major routes.

To facilitate the smooth transport of players, officials, and fans—and to tighten security—multiple roads around Kasarani will either be partially restricted or fully closed.

Chirchir also issued alternative routes and called on the public to plan ahead and follow directions from traffic officers.

Road Closures and Restrictions:

  • Aerodrome Road: Fully closed from Madaraka Roundabout to Bunyala Roundabout (as was the case on Sunday).
  • Lang’ata Road: One lane closed between Madaraka and Lusaka Roundabouts.
  • Mombasa Road: One side restricted from Lusaka to Bunyala Roundabout.

Alternative Routes:

  • From Mombasa Road to CBD: Use Likoni–Enterprise Road near General Motors or access the Southern Bypass via Ole Sereni.
  • From Lang’ata Road to CBD: Divert to Raila Odinga Road or Muhoho Road at Mbagathi Roundabout.
  • From CBD to Thika, Ruiru, or Juja: Use Kiambu Road or Limuru Road.
  • Matatus ferrying fans to Kasarani: Should use Ruaraka–Baba Dogo Road, Ngomongo Road, and proceed via Ngomongo Roundabout.
  • Motorists heading toward Thika Road: Consider the Eastern Bypass, Kiambu Road, or Limuru Road as alternatives.

Additionally, several VIPs, including President William Ruto, are expected to attend the match, which may further impact traffic flow around the stadiums.
