TSC Announces 2,014 Permanent Teaching Positions

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has advertised 2,014 job openings nationwide to fill positions left vacant due to natural attrition.

According to a notice in the latest MyGov publication, the vacancies include 1,309 posts in primary schools, 32 in junior schools, and 673 in secondary schools. Successful candidates will be employed on permanent and pensionable terms.

“The recruited teachers will be engaged on Permanent and Pensionable terms,” the TSC stated.

To qualify, applicants must be Kenyan citizens and registered with the Commission. Those applying for primary school roles must have a P1 certificate, while candidates for junior and secondary school positions must possess at least a diploma in education and a minimum grade of C+ in KCSE, including in two teaching subjects.

Applications must be submitted online via the TSC portal www.tsc.go.ke or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke) by midnight on Monday, May 19, 2025. Only online submissions will be accepted, and applicants are warned against submitting multiple applications.

“Submitting more than one application form will result in disqualification,” the Commission warned.

Priority will be given to teachers who have never been employed by TSC. The Commission also encouraged persons with disabilities to apply, underscoring its commitment to inclusive hiring.

TSC further cautioned applicants against falling victim to fraudsters. “The recruitment process is free. Beware of individuals who may attempt to solicit money with false promises of job placement,” the notice said.
