“We are the loyal opposition of the people. Pray for us. We must allow prayers to guide our country,” he said.
The former vice president mentioned ongoing discussions aimed at uniting the nation without leaving anyone behind. He expressed confidence that working alongside former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, with support from retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, would form a strong team capable of bringing about meaningful change in Kenya.
He referred to the 2007 post-election agreement with Mwai Kibaki, which led to his appointment as vice president, noting that such unity strengthened the country. Kalonzo emphasized that the potential alliance with Gachagua and Kenyatta would make Kenya even stronger.
“When I teamed up with Kibaki, did it not make the country stronger? Now, if we work together with Rigathi Gachagua and Uhuru Kenyatta, we will be stronger than ever,” he said.
Kalonzo also mentioned that talks are ongoing with leaders from other communities to foster unity.
However, he criticized those discussing a broad-based government, which is the result of the agreement between President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to work together. This deal led to opposition leaders from the ODM party joining the Kenya Kwanza administration as Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries, with the latest additions being announced this week.

Kalonzo and other Azimio coalition leaders have refused to join the broad-based government, insisting that they should form the next government. They are currently in talks with like-minded individuals to form a possible coalition.
