In a separate incident at the University of Nairobi’s main campus, a female student was seriously injured after being stabbed during a confrontation with another student, who is believed to be her boyfriend.

The attack happened on the night of December 10 at a tunnel linking the main campus to the student hostels.

Police said the suspect fled the scene after attacking the 20-year-old first-year student, leaving her injured in the tunnel. Despite her condition, the student managed to reach the main gate, where security guards assisted her and rushed her to hospital. She was admitted in critical condition.

The suspect remains at large, and police said the motive behind the attack had not yet been established.

In another case, a 71-year-old man was found dead in his home in Muthurwa, Nairobi, in what police described as a murder.

The deceased was identified as Habert Ambani. Police said preliminary findings suggested he had been attacked inside his house before his body was discovered on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

According to police, his son became concerned after failing to reach him by phone and went to check on him. He found the house locked from the outside and forced his way in, where he discovered the body lying on the floor.

The body was moved to the mortuary as investigations continue. Police said the motive for the killing was still unknown, but initial indications suggest the attackers intended to eliminate the elderly man.
