PS Mary Muthoni has promised to urge President William Ruto to visit Kirinyaga County for a development tour.

Speaking at an event in Ngiriambu village, Muthoni asked residents if they wanted the President to come, and once they agreed, she assured them he would be visiting soon.
“My task now is to request leaders to come to Kirinyaga for development purposes, as politics has no place here,” she said, encouraging residents to focus on progress rather than the upcoming 2027 elections.
She emphasized that development should take priority, with politics set for 2027. “Let’s not be distracted by politics. What we want is development. The time for politics will come in 2027,” she stated. Muthoni further encouraged the community to prioritize education and financial growth, with a focus on improving infrastructure like roads and water supply.
The President had recently visited Western Kenya and the North Eastern region for development tours. In early February, he spent a week in North Eastern counties such as Mandera, Garissa, Wajir, Marsabit, and Isiolo, where he emphasized infrastructure projects. He had also visited Western Kenya a week earlier to launch various initiatives, including the first-ever sugarcane farmers’ bonus, as part of efforts to revitalize the sugar industry.
President Ruto is reportedly planning a tour of the Mt Kenya region soon.
