A solemn atmosphere enveloped Umoja 2 village in Molo, Nakuru County on Saturday, following a destructive residential fire that claimed the lives of 24-year-old Angel Wairimu and her eight-year-old daughter.
Family members suspect that the fire may have been ignited by a candle the young girl was using to illuminate her bedroom. Police, led by Molo OCS and DCI officers, visited the scene and transported the bodies of the mother and daughter to Molo Sub-County Hospital mortuary.
Ongoing investigations aim to determine the cause of the tragic inferno.
