The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is set to hold the Repeat Phase III grassroots elections on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in 18 counties as part of efforts to strengthen its local leadership structures.
In a media briefing ahead of the exercise, the party announced that the polls will take place in Kiambu, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Embu, Meru, Samburu, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Baringo, Laikipia, Kericho, Bomet, and Vihiga counties.
UDA said more than 500,000 aspirants have registered to contest for 20 grassroots positions at polling centres. The available positions represent various interest groups including women, youth, special interest groups, farmers, religious leaders, professionals, and micro, small and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) traders.
The party estimates that approximately eight million voters will participate in the elections, which will be conducted across 8,819 polling centres.
To streamline the voting process, UDA will deploy end-to-end digital technology, with about 9,000 electronic voting tablets already distributed to polling stations. The party added that the results will be published on its official website.

Voting is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m.
Once completed, the exercise is expected to produce roughly 150,000 grassroots officials who will form part of the party’s local leadership structures.
The repeat elections are part of UDA’s broader plan to strengthen its grassroots network and increase participation in the party’s governance framework.
