UDA Nullifies Election Results in Narok Amidst Allegations of Malpractice

UDA has invalidated the election outcomes at two polling centers in Narok due to reported electoral irregularities.

The affected centers are Entiyani Polling Center in Olokurto Ward, Narok North, and Mosiro Polling Station in Mosiro Ward, Narok East. To uphold fairness and transparency, the UDA National Elections Board, chaired by Anthony Mwaura, has announced plans for fresh elections in these areas.

Mwaura emphasized the necessity of conducting new elections in these locations to uphold principles of fairness and justice, citing substantiated instances of malpractice.

In preparation for grassroots elections, UDA has implemented a dispute resolution framework. This framework includes a fee structure for lodging disputes at different levels within the party hierarchy, ranging from Ksh5,000 for polling center officials to Ksh50,000 for county officials.

The UDA’s grassroots elections encompass various levels, including polling centers, wards, constituencies, and counties. At the county level, a congress comprising 20 constituency committee members and elected county leaders is responsible for electing 13 officials, including chairpersons, secretaries, treasurers, and representatives for various demographic and professional groups.

Similarly, at the constituency level, a congress composed of 20 ward committee members and the elected Member of the National Assembly oversees the electoral process. This structure ensures diverse representation within the party’s electoral framework.
