He denied accusations of trickery, explaining that his rise to power was a result of divine intervention, despite efforts by others to set traps for him to fail.

“People have tried to set many traps for me. If I hadn’t fallen here, I would have fallen there. Now they say Ruto is clever,” he remarked. “But I tell them, I am not clever. It’s God’s grace, and because we trust in Him. They think I’ve escaped these traps because of strategy, but it’s all God’s favour.”

During a church service at Jesus Winner Ministry in Roysambu, Ruto highlighted significant achievements, particularly in agriculture, including increased yields in maize, tea, and coffee. “We are trusting God for our nation,” he added.

Ruto compared his leadership journey to the biblical story of Abraham, emphasizing perseverance and faith in God, even in tough times. “I tell them, it’s not what you’re saying; it’s God’s favour upon our nation,” he said.

He also pledged Sh20 million towards the construction of the church and committed to leading a fundraiser to raise Sh1.2 billion for its completion. The church will be built on two acres of land and will include an underground parking lot and a helipad.

Ruto also thanked the churches for their prayers and mentioned fulfilling his pre-election promise to resolve a long-standing land issue by providing a title deed to the church.
