Leaders from across the region have sent messages of condolence. Kitui politician Enock Wambua expressed his sympathy, saying his thoughts and prayers were with Senator Kavindu and her family during the painful period, describing the loss as deeply saddening.

In 2024, Moses was appointed Director of Administration in the Machakos County Government by Governor Wavinya Ndeti. The governor has since joined the family and residents in mourning his passing.

In a statement, Governor Ndeti conveyed heartfelt condolences to Senator Kavindu and her family, noting that the people of Machakos County stood with them in grief. She prayed for God’s comfort, strength, and peace for the family, and asked that Moses be granted eternal rest.

This loss comes just a few years after another tragedy struck the family. Moses’ sibling, Janet Njoki, passed away in 2022.

Machakos politician Chris Muthini remembered the late Moses as a cheerful, humble, and outgoing individual whose kindness left a lasting impression on many.

He extended condolences to the Muthama family, including former Machakos Senator Johnson Nduya Muthama, Senator Agnes Kavindu, and the wider Aiini/Aoini clan, praying for strength and peace during the difficult time.

ODM party spokesperson Philip Etale also mourned Moses, describing him as a calm and friendly person he had known for some time. He sent his sympathies to Senator Johnson Muthama and Senator Agnes Kavindu, wishing the family comfort as they come to terms with the loss.
