Multiple people were injured on Wednesday afternoon after a Hilux pickup and a lorry collided head-on at Kijabe Junction along the Nairobi–Nakuru highway.

The impact left both vehicles badly damaged, with the Hilux bearing the brunt as its bonnet was completely torn off. Residents and motorists rushed to the scene, using axes and other tools to cut through the mangled wreckage in a bid to rescue those trapped inside.
Videos captured from the scene showed rescuers tearing away metal parts to free the injured driver of the Hilux.
