According to the police, the victims were on their way back from a memorial service when their vehicle collided with a lorry. The crash resulted in the deaths of four children and three adults, causing immense grief for their family.
The bodies were taken to the Naivasha mortuary while authorities began investigating the incident. Police confirmed they are working to determine the cause of the crash.
In a separate incident on Sunday, March 30, rescue efforts at an accident scene along the Kathiani-Machakos road were interrupted by a swarm of bees.
Witnesses reported that the bees attacked people who had rushed to help following the overturning of a 14-seater van at Kwa Kakonzi, near Iveti Hills in Machakos. Firefighters from Machakos County used water from hoses to disperse the bees, allowing rescuers to reach the wreckage.

Although the bees briefly delayed rescue operations, no serious injuries were reported. The van had swerved off the road at a sharp turn, hit a tree, and overturned, trapping the passengers. Fortunately, the passengers only suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, according to the police.
