Senator Ledama Denies Azimio Split Reports

Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has refuted claims of a division within the Azimio la Umoja Coalition.

Responding to a report in the Nation that highlighted a rift caused by the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report released in November 2023, Senator Ledama dismissed the report, alleging that it was sponsored by opponents of Azimio.

During a discussion on Citizen TV’s daybreak on Monday, Senator Ledama asserted that sensational headlines suggesting a split in Azimio were orchestrated by individuals seeking to create division within the coalition.

Contrary to the reported split, Ledama emphasized that Azimio remains strong, particularly highlighting the strength of the ODM as a national political party.

“ODM is a political party, a national party, and a very strong party in that sense,” commented Senator Ledama.

He urged members of the constituent parties in Azimio to maintain unity and adhere to the party’s regulations.

“When you are a member of ODM, when you are a member of Azimio, you’ve got to preach Azimio,” urged Senator Ledama.

The NADCO report had exposed a division within Azimio, with leaders like Martha Karua of Narc Kenya and Eugene Wamalwa of DAP-K dismissing the document.
