Kenya Power has announced that residents in selected parts of Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Nairobi, and Vihiga will experience planned power interruptions on Monday, March 2, 2026.
According to the company, the outages are scheduled to occur between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and customers are advised to take necessary precautions to minimise disruption to daily activities.

In Nyeri County, affected locations include Sasini, Tree Tops, Waihenya Estate, St. Mary’s Hospital, Mweiga Estate Pump, Kahuruko Village, Kihuyo, Nyarugumu, Nyeri High, Mathari Hospital, Kagongo, Out Span, Nyeri Hill, Mary Immaculate Hospital, and surrounding areas.
Residents of Mucagara Town and Thumaita, including Mucagara Market, Kambogo, Kamugunda Market, and parts of Kamweti Junction, will also be impacted.
In Nairobi, power will be interrupted in parts of Jakaya Kikwete and Milimani, affecting areas such as Valley Road, EACC offices, Nairobi Region Police Quarters, Central SDA, Ambassador Court, The Heron Hotel, Statehouse Avenue, Middle East Bank, Comfort Hotel, Saggy Suits, Sagret Hotel, Telecom Plaza, Swiss Mount Hotel, CITAM Valley Road, Pitman House, DOD offices, parts of Jabavu Road, Russian, Swiss, and China embassies, Pharmacy & Poisons Board, Jabavu Lane, and nearby locations.
In Vihiga County, the outages will impact Vihiga Law Courts, Vihiga Police, Affordable Housing Vihiga, Vihiga High School, Emanda, Bukura, Lusiaola, Shangilia, Madira, Mulele, Induru, Kereda, BI Water, and adjacent neighborhoods.
Kenya Power clarified that these planned interruptions are part of routine maintenance and infrastructure upgrades intended to improve service reliability.
“Good evening, the following areas are scheduled for planned power maintenance tomorrow, 02.03.2026,” the company stated, urging residents to plan accordingly.
