Police Probe Killing of Woman After Domestic Dispute in Kabete

Detectives in Kabete, Kiambu County, have launched investigations into the murder of a 30-year-old woman, Jackline Kangashi, who was found dead in her home following a domestic altercation with her husband.

Her body was discovered on Wednesday morning in her rented house in Mutengo Village, Kanyariri, bearing deep panga cuts to the neck. Police said her husband, the main suspect, fled the scene after the attack.

The couple’s three children, aged nine, six, and three, were found distressed inside the house as their mother’s body lay in a pool of blood. They were later handed over to their uncle. A bloodstained panga believed to have been used in the killing was recovered at the scene.

According to preliminary reports, the couple had engaged in a heated argument before the man turned violent. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect.

Authorities have expressed concern over the growing number of domestic murder cases despite ongoing interventions.

In a separate incident, the DCI is seeking public assistance in tracing Wycliffe Otieno Odero, 28, who is wanted for the brutal killing of his wife and two young daughters on September 27, 2025, in the Yare area of Samburu Central Sub-County.

Odero allegedly fatally stabbed his wife, Ann Njeri Atheera, before slitting the throats of their sleeping daughters, Natalia Nyambura (6) and Tyra Jones (4), and fleeing into the night. Detectives say efforts to apprehend him are still ongoing.

Meanwhile, in Kilgoris, Narok County, police are investigating another suspected murder after the body of David Ogega, 65, was found along Olalui Road with injuries to his face, head, and left hand, believed to have been caused by a blunt object. Blood was seen oozing from his mouth and nose, and signs of a struggle were evident.

The body was moved to the mortuary for post-mortem as police continue to pursue leads to arrest those responsible.
