Millicent Omanga: Increasing State Officers’ Salaries Is a Betrayal to Kenyans

Former nominated Senator Millicent Omanga criticizes the recent increase in salaries for state officers, calling it a betrayal of Kenyans.

She believes that at a time when there is widespread demand for salary reductions, such increases are deceptive and disrespectful to the public.

Omanga emphasizes that the current priority should be to decrease, not escalate, state officers’ remuneration.

Her comments follow the Salaries and Remuneration Commission’s decision to raise the salaries of several senior state officials, effective July 1.
