Police have arrested a man suspected of killing his wife and three-year-old daughter in Kinangop, Nyandarua County.
The suspect was intercepted in Lari, Kiambu County, while travelling in a matatu to Nairobi, just hours after the bodies of Mary Wanjiru Njogu, 27, and her daughter, Peris Wanjiru, were found in his house on September 2, 2025. Authorities say he is the prime suspect and will face murder charges.

He was later taken back to Kinangop for processing as investigations continue. The motive remains unclear.
Meanwhile, a 33-year-old boda boda rider, John Ngigi, was found murdered in Kibaoni, Lamu County. His body, bearing severe injuries to the face, ribs, and dental structure, was discovered by the roadside next to his motorcycle. A Sh200 note and his cap were found at the scene. Police are yet to establish the motive.
In Tana River’s Madogo area, the body of Patrick Mutuku Nzuvi, 37, was discovered on the road in a pool of blood with a deep cut on the back. The cause of the attack remains unknown.
Separately, in Narok, a farmworker identified as David Bargelo, 50, succumbed to injuries in hospital after being assaulted in Nchurra area. He had sustained deep cuts on both arms, suspected to have been inflicted with sharp objects.

Police say the motive in all the killings is still under investigation, adding that murder cases have been on the rise across the country, with many still pending in court.
