Makueni: 771 Students Benefit from Bursary Distribution in Kikumbulyu South

Makueni County, Kenya – In a dedicated effort to uplift the education of underprivileged students, H.E Lucy Mulili, the Deputy Governor of Makueni County, led the distribution of bursary cheques to 771 students (392 boys and 379 girls) at the ward administrator’s office in Kikumbulyu South, Kibwezi West Subcounty, on Friday.

The allocated funds of 5 million specifically for Kikumbulyu South are intended to provide financial support for the education of the most vulnerable and needy students within the ward. This initiative mirrors similar bursary allocations across all 30 wards in Makueni County.

Deputy Governor Mulili delivered an inspiring message to the recipients, urging them to pursue success and highlighting the county government’s commitment to advancing education for disadvantaged students at higher levels.

Furthermore, the Makueni County government, through its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) docket, has earmarked a substantial sum of 99 million for bursaries and scholarships, benefiting students across the entire county. This demonstrates a comprehensive approach to ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder deserving students from accessing quality education.

The bursary distribution event in Kikumbulyu South signifies the county’s proactive measures in addressing educational inequalities and promoting equal opportunities for students, as they strive for academic success and a brighter future.
