During the visit, Dena presented a Ksh1 million contribution from Uhuru to help cover funeral costs, honoring Bayo’s life, ministry, and impact on the public.
The former president also promised scholarships for Bayo’s children through the Kenyatta Foundation.
In a tribute, Uhuru lauded Bayo as “an extraordinary gospel minister whose music uplifted countless hearts and inspired hope nationwide.”

He highlighted her devotion to faith, her artistic legacy, and the enduring influence of her work on Kenya’s gospel scene, noting that her legacy would live on through her children, her music, and the lives she touched.

Betty Bayo, famed for hits like Busy Busy, passed away after battling acute leukaemia and severe bleeding. She was initially admitted to AAR Hospital on Kiambu Road and later transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she died at 1:03 pm on Monday.

Preparations for her final send-off are underway, with the main burial service scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Ndumberi Stadium. Friends, family, and fellow gospel artists continue to celebrate her life and contributions to music and ministry.
