KeNHA Announces Partial Thika Road Closure at Juja for Footbridge Construction

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has declared a partial closure of Thika Road at Juja Highpoint (Centurion) for six days to facilitate footbridge construction.

According to a public notice issued on Friday, the closure will occur nightly from 11 pm to 6 am, starting Thursday, December 12, 2024, through Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

KeNHA has urged motorists to be cautious around the construction areas.

Nairobi-bound traffic will be diverted behind the Lexo petrol station before rejoining the Superhighway. Thika-bound traffic will use a diversion behind Centurion Hotel to reconnect with the highway.

Motorists are advised to follow the traffic management plan and cooperate with police and traffic marshals at the site.

This closure follows a similar announcement regarding Mombasa Road, where a temporary closure took place on Sunday, December 1, 2024, between Nyayo National Stadium Roundabout and Museum Hill Interchange. The closure was for a 21-km half marathon held in honor of World AIDS Day. Alternative routes were provided for affected motorists.
