Idah Odinga Pens Down A heartfelt Tribute To Her late Son, Fidel

Idah Odinga has penned a heartfelt tribute to her late son, Fidel Castro Odinga, marking the ninth anniversary of his passing on January 4, 2015, under circumstances that remain unclear. The Opposition leader Raila Odinga’s wife expressed the rapid passage of time since Fidel’s departure, describing him as her own man who always sought to protect his family from the early days of being cradled in her arms as a baby.

In her emotional tribute, Idah remembered Fidel as tall, loving, caring, happy, and incomparably kind, traits that continue to be cherished by those who remember him. Despite the challenges faced since his passing, Idah acknowledged the valuable lessons learned over the nine years without him, reflecting on the possibility that Fidel may have lived his life exceptionally well.

Idah expressed the ongoing impact of Fidel’s 41 years of life on the Odinga family, emphasizing the wealth of cherished memories he left behind. She acknowledged the irreplaceable void left by his absence and affirmed that nothing could substitute the joy he brought to their lives.

In the tribute, Idah shared that the family still holds dear many of the affectionate smiles, sweet names, and wonderful praises Fidel bestowed upon them. She concluded by expressing the belief that Fidel’s spirit lives on within them, as they continue to practice and appreciate the joy, love, and kindness he exemplified. The tribute ended with a poignant message to Fidel, “Keep resting in peace, Fidel Obange wuod Nyagem.”
