Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba officially announced the release of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results during a ceremony at Chebisas High School in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, on January 9, 2026.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) reported that about 996,078 candidates from 10,755 examination centres countrywide sat for the exams.
Candidates can now access their results through several authorized platforms.
Checking 2025 KCSE Results via SMS
Candidates can obtain their results by sending their index number to 20076.
Each SMS costs Ksh25.

Results are also available on the official KNEC results portal: https://results.knec.ac.ke
To view results online:
1. Visit the KNEC Results Portal.
2. Enter your index number.
3. Choose the examination year (2025).
4. Click “Submit” to view and print the provisional results slip.
KNEC has upgraded the portal to manage heavy traffic and added security measures to prevent unauthorized access.
In addition, schools will receive physical copies of results and official result slips. Candidates facing challenges accessing results online are advised to collect printed slips from their schools.

The Ministry has cautioned candidates and parents against misleading information circulating online, urging them to depend solely on official channels.
“Do not be misled by fake links or claims on social media. The KNEC portal is the only authorized platform for KCSE results,” CS Ogamba said on January 7, 2026.
