During the official unveiling of the party name on May 15, 2025, Gachagua revealed that the list of officials had already been submitted to the Registrar of Political Parties for formal approval.
Notably, the lineup features several former senior figures from UDA and Jubilee, including ex-UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala, who has been appointed Deputy Party Leader.
Interestingly, no currently elected leaders have been assigned positions in the new party structure—an apparent move by Gachagua to build a fresh political platform as part of his broader 2027 strategy.
Other appointees include:
- Mithika Linturi – Interim National Organising Secretary
- Former Starehe MP – Chairperson, Caucus of Eminent Persons
- Catherine Waruguru – National Women Leader
- David Mingati (Kajiado) – National Chairperson
- Peter Mwathi (Kiambu) – Deputy Chairperson, Strategy
- Margaret Sarah Owino (Kisumu) – Deputy Chairperson, Operations
- Hezron Obanga (Kisii) – Interim Secretary General
- Martin Kamwaro (Narok) – Deputy Secretary General
- Anne Mutua (Machakos) – National Treasurer
- Wambiru Njoka – Deputy Treasurer, Strategy
- Thomas Mwita – Deputy Treasurer, Operations
Alongside the leadership announcement, DCP also debuted a set of campaign songs that seek to energize supporters and distinguish the party’s identity.

Two songs—one in Kiswahili and another in English—highlight themes of economic justice, citizen engagement, and political transformation, under the party’s slogan: “Skiza Wakenya” (Listen to Kenyans).
A Kiswahili verse chants:
“Komboa payslip, Okoa Wakenya, Unganisha Kenya!”
Another rally cry goes:
“Skiza Wakenya! Waongo waende kabisa! DCP ni mwamko mpya, utaboresha afya na itaokoa payslip!”
Unlike the 2021 UDA launch, which leaned on Christian hymns, DCP’s musical messaging mixes secular and gospel elements while focusing on real-life struggles facing Kenyans.
Supporters were also heard chanting:
“Uongozi wa kuaminika, tunaskiza Wakenya! DCP inaunganisha Wakenya wote na ni chama cha Wakenya wote!”
And a more emotional line from the English song resonated with:
“Maisha yangu ni wewe, hata kama sina pesa, maisha yangu ni wewe yawe!”
With the official unveiling now complete, Gachagua is expected to intensify efforts to position DCP as a formidable political force ahead of the 2027 general election.
