Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris attracted attention with a daring outfit while representing Kenya at a golf match during the East African Parliamentary Games in Uganda.
Footage from the event showed Passaris wearing a navy blue polo shirt, a cap, a floral short skirt, and pink sports shoes, appearing relaxed as she enjoyed the game alongside fellow players.

Sharing highlights on X, she celebrated Team Kenya’s performance:
“Team Kenya finished at the top with a powerful 439 points at the EALA Parliamentary Golf Day! Uganda followed with 312, Rwanda 42, EALA 37, and South Sudan 28. A fantastic day of diplomacy, sport, and friendship across our East African region,” she wrote.
The 15th East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Games are ongoing in Kampala from December 5 to 17, 2025.
Social media users quickly commented on Passaris’ outfit. X user Stingy wrote: “Politics aside. Congratulations.” Juma Osaso added: “Surely, why all this on Hon. Esther Passaris? Is she supposed to play golf wearing dera? She looks very fine as part of the Kenyan team.” Another user, Eshole, asked: “Sasa hio ni skirt gani umevaa surely mheshimiwa??”

Passaris’ fashion choices have frequently sparked public debate. In 2019, a photo of her in a see-through Donna Karan dress at a Miss World launch resurfaced, drawing criticism for being “indecent” for a public figure. She defended the look, stating she had “no apologies” and that perception varied depending on one’s outlook.

More recently, in October, she faced backlash for wearing a high-slit designer dress while paying respects at the late Raila Odinga’s Karen home, with critics calling it “inappropriate for mourning,” though others argued she remained dignified.
