Bolt Introduces New Feature for Emergency Alerts

Bolt has introduced a new “Trusted Contacts” feature, allowing both passengers and drivers to designate friends or family members as emergency contacts.

This feature ensures that if the account holder is unreachable, Bolt’s Safety Team can escalate Ride Check alerts or Emergency Assist requests. It’s part of Bolt’s Sh14 billion investment in safety over three years and complements existing safety tools like Ride Check, Share Location, and Emergency Assist.

Dimmy Kanyankole, Bolt Kenya and Tanzania General Manager, explained, “This feature enhances our safety commitment by ensuring that, in critical situations, a trusted person can be reached when the account holder cannot be.”

This update underscores Bolt’s ongoing focus on enhancing the safety and reliability of the ride-hailing experience for both drivers and passengers.
