The Ministry has identified 255 contacts of confirmed cases, with 246 having completed the mandatory 21-day monitoring period. The remaining contacts are still under observation, and nine of them have tested positive for Mpox.

Additionally, more than 3.2 million travelers have been screened at airports and other entry points, with suspected cases undergoing further investigation.

Samples from suspected cases are being tested at the National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) and partner laboratories. Out of 412 samples, 38 have tested positive, while 374 tested negative.

To curb the spread of the disease, the Ministry has implemented various measures. Healthcare workers are urged to stay vigilant and follow infection prevention protocols, while the public is encouraged to adhere to health guidelines to reduce transmission.

The Ministry, in collaboration with County Governments and partners, has strengthened surveillance in high-risk counties and deployed rapid response teams (RRTs) to conduct case searches, contact tracing, and manage confirmed cases, including providing mental health and psychosocial support.

Ongoing risk communication and community engagement activities in affected counties aim to raise awareness about Mpox prevention and control.
