Lobolia confirmed the man died after the mob justice, while the injured uncle was taken to a hospital. The body of the deceased was taken to the morgue.

This incident occurred just a week after another lynching in the nearby Kiumoni village, where a 30-year-old man was killed by an angry mob after allegedly killing his mother under unclear circumstances. The man reportedly confessed to his uncles that he had killed her, prompting local residents to take justice into their own hands.

Lobolia condemned these acts of mob justice, emphasizing that residents should not resort to violence. He urged the public to respect the rule of law and report crimes to authorities before they escalate, instead of taking matters into their own hands. He also called on Kenyans to refrain from harming their parents, highlighting that drug influence might be a factor in some crimes, and encouraged people to report those involved in narcotics trade.

Lobolia reiterated that the public should hand over suspects to the police rather than resorting to violence, noting that police stations and patrol bases are available across Machakos County for such purposes.
