Kanja informed Justice Chacha Mwita that the missing persons report was filed at both the Mlolongo and Athi River police stations.

“Upon receiving the report, I directed the DCI director to initiate an investigation, and the lead investigator, Assistant IG Paul Wachira, is present in court to provide a progress update on the case,” Kanja stated.

He emphasized his respect for the law and court orders, assuring the public that the missing individuals are not in police custody, but expressing confidence that they are safe.

DCI Mohamed Amin testified that the investigation into the disappearance is ongoing. He added that the case file would be forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) once investigations are complete, along with the findings and recommendations.

Amin also clarified that the missing persons are not in the custody of the National Police Service, nor have they been arrested. He concluded by stating that, under the current circumstances, they could not produce the individuals or file any charges.
