Martha Karua, leader of Narc Kenya Party, has revealed plans to rebrand her party and introduce the “People’s Liberation Party” (PLP) in February.

This move is aimed at forming new political alliances in preparation for the 2027 General Election.
Speaking from her Gichugu home in Kirinyaga on Saturday, Karua emphasized her willingness to collaborate with other political groups, including one linked to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, to challenge President William Ruto’s government.

“We have rebranded, and we will be launching our People’s Liberation Party (PLP) in February,” she stated.
Karua outlined that the party’s goal would be to restore good governance, criticizing the current administration for its tax policies and the economic struggles faced by many Kenyans.
The announcement comes as political realignments intensify across the country.

Karua, a former Constitutional Affairs Minister, urged like-minded leaders to join her cause, suggesting that her party is already in talks with other political figures, including those involved in Gachagua’s upcoming political formation, which is still in the works.
Gachagua, who faced impeachment last year on multiple charges, has been engaging with leaders from the Mt Kenya region in a bid to consolidate support ahead of the 2027 elections. His efforts to unify the region’s leadership are accompanied by promises of a new political outfit that aims to challenge Ruto’s dominance.
In December 2024, Gachagua pledged to provide political direction for the Mt Kenya region, fueling speculation about a significant political shift ahead of the next election.
