Dennis Itumbi, the Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy, has rejected claims of a fallout between President William Ruto and his deputy, Kithure Kindiki.
The rumors began after Kindiki was absent from President Ruto’s New Year’s Eve address and dinner at the Kisii State Lodge on December 31, 2024, leading many Kenyans to question his whereabouts.
Addressing the speculation on X, Itumbi firmly denied the claims, labeling them as false.

Despite his absence from public events, Kindiki sent a New Year’s message to Kenyans on X, wishing them blessings and prosperity for the year ahead.
“Happy, blessed, and joyous 2025. God bless your families, and God bless Kenya,” he posted.
He later encouraged Kenyans to renew their commitment to “Project Kenya” as the country enters the new year, stressing the need for collective focus and hard work to achieve a brighter future and a more united nation.
“Now is the time for each citizen to freshen the resolve to work harder towards a better future and a more cohesive nation.”
Kindiki’s absence was also noted during President Ruto’s visit to Kisii to inspect the construction of a cancer treatment center, as well as during Ruto’s attendance at the Governor’s Cup 2024 tournament at the Mumias Sports Complex in Kakamega.
Kindiki, who took office as Kenya’s third Deputy President under the 2010 Constitution on November 1, 2025, has now been in office for two months. His predecessor, Rigathi Gachagua, was removed from office and has since become a vocal critic of the current administration.
