Big Names Touch Down in Kenya for Africa Forward Summit

Several Heads of State, government leaders and top dignitaries have arrived in Nairobi ahead of the Africa Forward Summit jointly hosted by Kenya and France.

Presidents, Prime Ministers and senior officials began landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Saturday evening, with more arrivals continuing into Sunday and Monday.

On Sunday evening, French President Emmanuel Macron and United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres arrived in Nairobi ahead of the high-level summit scheduled for May 11 and 12, 2026.

Other leaders who arrived on Sunday include Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Gabon’s General Brice Oligui Nguema, Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio, Liberia’s President Joseph Boakai, and Côte d’Ivoire’s President Alassane Ouattara.

Also in Nairobi are Morocco’s Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch and Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam.

The summit is expected to bring together African and French leaders alongside investors and business representatives for discussions focused on trade, investment, and industrial development.

Key talks will centre on how Africa can attract more investment into sectors such as manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, technology, and logistics, while ensuring more value remains within the continent’s economies.
