President Ruto’s delegation accompanying him during his three-day state visit to the United States on May 20, 2024, included a roster of prominent figures from the Kenyan government, as well as notable individuals from the private sector.

Among those accompanying him were Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Defense CS Aden Duale, Trade CS Rebecca Miano, and Health CS Susan Nakhumicha, alongside Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga and Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti.

Also part of the entourage were Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi, National Security Advisor Monicah Jumah, Council of Governors Chair Anne Waiguru, Senate Majority leader Aaron Cheruiyot, National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah, and Foreign Affairs PS Roselyne Njogu, among others.

Representatives from the private sector included Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa, Vivo Fashion Group founder Wandia Gichuru, and Wazawazi’s Chebet Mutai.
Upon arrival, President Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto were greeted by the Kenyan diaspora community in Atlanta. The President’s itinerary in the US included visits to notable sites such as The Presidential Library and Museum and the Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he would pay homage to the civil rights movement and underscore the positive role of religion in society.

The visit was marked by a flurry of activity at the airport as US Secret Service ensured security measures were in place, while over 50 chase cars awaited to escort the President.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken extended a warm welcome to President Ruto and expressed appreciation to the City of Atlanta for its hospitality, looking forward to the upcoming State Dinner on May 23.
