Samidoh Blocked From Contacting Woman in Rape Suit

The High Court has issued temporary orders barring Kikuyu musician Samuel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, from contacting or interfering with a woman who has accused him of rape.

Justice Lawrence Mugambi granted the woman, identified in court records only as M.R.W., protection from harassment and intimidation as the case proceeds. The judge also ordered that all filings in the case be sealed to safeguard her identity, with some hearings set to be conducted in camera if necessary.

In her petition, the woman alleges that Samidoh sexually assaulted her and has asked the court to direct investigations and preserve evidence. She claims to have retained digital proof, including audio recordings and electronic messages in which the artist allegedly insulted and threatened her.

She further accuses him of maintaining coercive and manipulative communication between 2021 and 2023, oscillating between friendliness and intimidation.

The court directed police to secure all documentary, digital, and electronic evidence linked to the complaint and issue preservation notices to relevant custodians. The petition must be served personally or via a nationwide newspaper within seven days, with responses and rejoinders filed within set timelines.

Through Kaaya Memba & Company Advocates, the petitioner is also seeking:

  • Police registration and investigation of her complaint.
  • Witness Protection Agency assessment and possible protection.
  • Direction for the Attorney General to request mutual legal assistance from U.S. authorities to obtain certified police and prosecutorial records.

She argues that state inaction has infringed on her constitutional rights, including dignity, equality, security of the person, fair administrative action, and access to justice.
