Tragedy struck the Nigerian entertainment industry as Junior Pope Odonwodo, known as Jnr Pope, has been confirmed dead after reportedly being involved in a boat accident.
The sad news was confirmed by Emeka Rollas, the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), who revealed that despite efforts to revive him at two prominent hospitals, the actor could not be saved.
Rollas expressed his sorrow over the loss, stating, “It’s so so sad that our joy was shortlived. Two notable hospitals tried their best to revive him but to no avail. God knows the best. We finally lost him.”

Confusion initially surrounded Jnr Pope’s condition, with conflicting reports emerging after Rollas initially announced that the actor was responding to treatment. However, Rollas later retracted his statement, confirming the actor’s passing.
The tragic incident occurred shortly after Jnr Pope shared a video from a boat, expressing concern for safety while navigating the waters. In the video, he could be heard pleading with the boat’s captain to be cautious, emphasizing his responsibilities as a father to three children.
