According to a statement issued by the movement’s head of communications, Pauline Njoroge, Sifuna will have four deputy positions, with former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, Faith Odhiambo and Patrick Makau named among those appointed. The fourth position has been set aside for a representative from the Coast region.

Njoroge said the appointments would require ratification by the movement’s National Delegates Convention (NDC), scheduled for November 13, 2026.

Siaya Senator Godfrey Osotsi has been named chairperson-designate, with former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo appointed as vice-chairperson. A second vice-chairperson position has also been reserved for the Coast region.

Former Rarieda MP Caroli Omondi will serve as secretary general, with Njoroge appointed as his deputy while retaining responsibility for communications.

Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has been named treasurer, deputised by Abigael Gikonyo, while Carey Karani will serve as organising secretary, with Wilberforce Oundo as his deputy.

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya with former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza.

Dr Gilbert Shanga has been named secretary for international affairs, Dr Eunice Juma will handle diaspora affairs, while Caroline Mayunzu has been appointed secretary for women’s affairs.

Barbara Malowa will head the National Elections Board, while Torome Nalengoyo has been appointed secretary for minority affairs.

Natembeya will also chair the movement’s board of trustees and lead its presidential campaign, with Odhiambo serving as his deputy in the campaign team.

The proposed leadership line-up is expected to be presented to delegates for consideration and approval during the November convention.

The decision to reserve senior leadership positions for the Coast region suggests an effort to broaden regional representation within the movement’s leadership.

The launch comes as political groups begin organising and positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election, with emerging party structures and leadership teams likely to influence future political alliances and campaign strategies.
