Police Officer Fatally Attacked by Husband Following Domestic Dispute

In a tragic incident, a 30-year-old police officer, identified as Constable Tiffany Wanyonyi, met a gruesome end when she was hacked to death by her husband, Jackson Oloitele, aged 40.

The dreadful event occurred following an alleged altercation between the couple in Webuye, Bungoma County. The deceased, who served at the Kiwanja Police Post in Kahawa West, Nairobi County, was off-duty at the time of the incident.

Constable Wanyonyi and her husband had journeyed to the countryside to attend the funeral of her late grandmother, who was laid to rest at Misemwa village a day before the fatal encounter.

Details regarding the precise sequence of events leading to Wanyonyi’s untimely demise remain murky. However, according to police reports, a dispute between the pair escalated tragically, culminating in the fatal attack.

Authorities discovered the lifeless body of the deceased lying on a bed, bearing several deep cuts on the neck and multiple head injuries, believed to have been inflicted by a sharp weapon. A machete, suspected to be the murder weapon, was recovered from the scene.

Following the incident, Oloitele surrendered himself to the police.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to the Lugulu Mission Hospital mortuary, where it will remain pending further examination in a postmortem investigation.
