Shock in Narok: 15-Year-Old Girl Found Dead in Sugarcane Plantation

Police in Narok County are investigating the death of a 15-year-old girl whose body was discovered in a sugarcane plantation in Angata Barrakoi.

The girl, still dressed in her school uniform, was found on October 29, 2025, lying in a pool of blood with visible injuries to her neck. Authorities say the motive behind the killing remains unclear.

Her body was moved to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination as detectives continue pursuing leads to identify and arrest the suspects.

In a separate case in Namanjala, Trans Nzoia County, police are probing the death of 57-year-old Paul Muliro Karera, who was found dead in a house on October 28. Preliminary findings suggest Karera may have quarreled with his son before being killed. The suspect reportedly fled after the incident, and investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, in Konyango, Kendu Bay, Homa Bay County, 62-year-old Joseph Oyoo Ondiek died following a violent confrontation with a neighbor over grazing land on October 28. Police said the suspect hit Ondiek on the head with a sharp object before escaping. The victim succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment in hospital.

Security officers have since appealed for calm amid reports that some residents were planning retaliatory attacks against the suspect’s relatives.

In another incident in Myanga, Bungoma County, police are investigating the death of 29-year-old Naomi Sangara, who was found dead in her house on October 29 after a suspected domestic dispute.

Officers said she had visible injuries, bloodstains at the scene, and a piece of fabric tied around her neck. Her body was taken to the mortuary for an autopsy.

Western Regional Police Commander Issa Mohamud confirmed that one suspect has been arrested and is expected to face murder charges.
