The National Treasury is set to disburse Ksh 10 billion for the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) by the end of this month, according to reports.
In efforts to resolve the ongoing deadlock between the Executive and the National Assembly, President William Ruto has announced that an additional tranche of Ksh 10 billion will also be released by the end of March.
However, the President urged Members of Parliament to exercise patience with the government in cases of delayed disbursements as it grapples with stabilizing the economy.
These statements were made during the Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group meeting, which aimed to assess the progress of the 2nd session of the 13th Parliament and set the agenda for the upcoming 3rd session.
The meeting also addressed topics such as the reconstitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), the Affordable Housing Bill, and the unity of the coalition and its allies, which dominated discussions on Monday afternoon.
