Relief as Rita Waeni’s Family Confirms Identification of Severed Head at City Mortuary

The family of the late university student, Rita Waeni, has positively identified a severed head discovered in Kiambaa dam, Kiambu, on Sunday, providing crucial details such as her forehead, hair, and dental arrangement.

This development enabled pathologists, led by chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor, to proceed with an autopsy on the head. This procedure is part of the ongoing efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding her death, which occurred on January 13 at an apartment in Roysambu, Nairobi.

The autopsy took place at the City Mortuary following previous examinations conducted on other body parts.

The family’s identification was aided by the discovery of a blouse wrapped around the head when it was initially found.

Investigators suspect that Waeni’s murder may be linked to occult practices within the country. “It appears to be a ritualistic act, possibly influenced by cult beliefs,” stated an informed officer.

The investigative team is keen to ascertain whether there have been similar killings resembling Waeni’s case.

Waeni’s dismembered body was discovered at an apartment on TRM Drive, Kasarani, with her head missing. Subsequently, her head was found wrapped in a purple female blouse and placed inside a green carrier bag, accompanied by a stone.
