The Kenya Space Agency (KSA) announced on Twitter that Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will appear close together, creating a stunning formation for both enthusiasts and casual observers.

“Tonight, Saturday, February 28, 2026, six planets will align in the western sky after sunset in what is known as a planetary parade,” KSA tweeted. “This is one of the best evenings to observe them.”

The agency encouraged people to look toward the western horizon immediately after sunset and suggested using telescopes or astronomy apps like Stellarium to help identify each planet and enhance the viewing experience.

“This alignment is not only a visual treat but also an educational opportunity for astronomy enthusiasts and students,” KSA added.

While planetary parades are not unheard of, they are uncommon. From Earth’s perspective, such alignments make the planets appear close together, though they remain millions of kilometres apart in reality.

Tonight’s event is especially notable because six planets will be visible at once—a configuration unlikely to repeat in the near future.

KSA urged Kenyans to take advantage of clear skies and witness this remarkable alignment, calling it a chance to marvel at the wonders of our solar system.
