The party submitted the documents in a letter dated October 8, 2026. They included a resolution of its National Executive Committee (NEC) approving the new name, along with the notice and signed attendance list for the NEC meeting held on October 8. The party also provided the statutory Form PP.10 and proof that the proposed name had been published in the Daily Nation on October 10 and on its official website.
The Registrar directed the party to report any objections or representations received from the public once the mandatory 14-day period following the newspaper publication ends. Under Section 20(4) of the Act, the party must also explain how it has dealt with any such representations.
The Linda Mwananchi Movement is associated with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Siaya Senator James Orengo, among other leaders.
