Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, has conveyed gratitude for Algeria’s political and financial support for the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti.
Mudavadi expressed Kenya’s commitment to leading international efforts for peace and stability in Haiti during a meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf at the 19th Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Munyonyo, Uganda. Both nations emphasized the need for a two-state solution in addressing the conflict between Israel and Hamas, aligning with the UN declaration for a lasting resolution.
Additionally, they discussed the challenges of terrorism and extremism in Africa, with Attaf highlighting concerns in the Sahel region, and Mudavadi emphasizing the importance of concerted efforts to combat terrorism, citing Kenya’s security concerns related to groups like Al-Shabab.
Kenya and Algeria maintain strong political and diplomatic ties as strategic partners on the African continent.
