Meet Samson Mutua, the First Kenyan to Receive the New HIV Injection

Samson Mutua has made history as the first Kenyan to receive the Lenacapavir HIV prevention injection.

The 26-year-old, who works as a delivery rider and Community Health Practitioner in Kawangware, was administered the first two injections at Riruta Health Centre at 8 a.m., with the shots given in his lower abdomen.

He will receive the next dose after six months. Mutua is currently unmarried.
