Jambojet was forced to call off the takeoff of flight JM8650 en route from Nairobi to Kisumu on Sunday, July 26, after a technical warning triggered a safety response.
According to the airline, the aircraft — registration 5Y-JXL — flagged a system caution alert at around 6:00 AM, just before departure. As a precaution, the crew aborted takeoff rather than proceed with the flight.

Jambojet confirmed that everyone on board, including passengers and crew, exited the plane safely and were supported by ground personnel throughout the process.
Following the aborted takeoff, the aircraft was returned to the bay so that Jambojet’s technical team could carry out a full inspection.
The airline extended an apology to travelers affected by the disruption, emphasizing that passenger and crew safety remains its highest priority.
This incident follows a separate aviation scare last month, when a Cessna Grand Caravan (registration 5Y-SOP) crash-landed at an airstrip in the Maasai Mara.
Footage from the scene showed the aircraft resting nose-down with its tail lifted off the ground after a rough landing, as ground staff and uniformed personnel rushed to the site. All three occupants of that aircraft emerged unharmed and later continued on to Serengeti Camp.
