TikTok Deletes Over 820,000 Videos in Kenya Crackdown

TikTok has taken down 820,552 videos in Kenya during the fourth quarter of 2025 as part of its latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.

The platform says most of the removals were done proactively, before users could report the content, highlighting its growing reliance on automated detection systems.

“In the fourth quarter of 2025, TikTok removed 820,552 videos in Kenya for violating its Community Guidelines,” the report states.

According to the company, 99.9% of the flagged content was identified and removed before being reported by users, while 98.4% was deleted within 24 hours of posting, reflecting the speed of its moderation process.

TikTok also revealed that 108,752 accounts in Kenya were banned during the same period, with a large number linked to suspected users under the age of 13, which is against platform rules.

“A significant portion of these, 93,704 accounts, were suspected of being accounts aged below 13, which is a violation of our rules,” the report noted.

Globally, the platform removed more than 175 million videos in the quarter, with over 152 million detected and deleted using automated systems.

TikTok said 99.1% of harmful content worldwide was removed proactively, while 93.4% of flagged material was taken down within 24 hours.
