List of Nairobi Roads Closed Today for CHAN Match

The National Police Service (NPS) has announced temporary road closures and diversions in Nairobi today, Sunday, August 10, 2025, due to the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024). The measures aim to manage increased traffic and ensure public safety.

Key changes include:

  • Full closure of Aerodrome Road between Madaraka Roundabout and Bunyala Roundabout.
  • Single-lane closure on Lang’ata Road from Madaraka to Lusaka Roundabout, and on Mombasa Road from Lusaka to Bunyala Roundabout.

Alternative routes:

  • From Mombasa Road to the CBD: use Likoni Road/Enterprise Road near General Motors, or the Southern Bypass via Ole Sereni.
  • From Lang’ata Road to the CBD: use Raila Odinga Road or Muhoho Road via Mbagathi Roundabout.
  • From the CBD to Thika Road: use Limuru Road or Kiambu Road.
  • Matatus heading to Kasarani: use Ruaraka, Baba Ndogo Road, and Ngomongo Road to Ngomongo Roundabout.
  • From Thika Road to the CBD: use Eastern Bypass, Kiambu Road, or Limuru Road.

Police advise avoiding Thika Road unless travelling to Moi International Sports Centre or Kasarani Stadium. Extra officers have been deployed, and traffic rule violators will face stern action.

The much-anticipated match kicks off at 3 pm at Kasarani Stadium. Motorists are urged to plan ahead, follow police guidance, and remain patient during the temporary disruptions.
