According to witnesses, the altercation between David Kiptoo Songok, 58, and Antony Sang, also known as Andoli, occurred at their workplace on Saturday. The confrontation escalated when Sang allegedly drew a knife and stabbed Songok in the chest.
Songok, who worked at Kibose Shopping Centre, was rushed to a local dispensary but was declared dead on arrival due to a deep stab wound.
After the incident, Sang reportedly confessed the killing to his family and said he was heading to the Koitabut Police Post to surrender. He left his phone and keys at home and began walking to the station.
However, before reaching the post, he was intercepted by a mob at Sisia village along the Mugen-Kapkemich road and was stoned to death. His body was discovered partially burned and lying in a pool of blood.
Police moved both bodies to the mortuary and confirmed investigations are ongoing. Authorities condemned the mob justice, emphasizing that all suspects should be handed over to the police for due process.
